The Ex-Alpine team principal, Otmar Szafnauer has claimed that there is no way F1 can get rid of Max Verstappen . The Red Bull ace has consistently secured wins until now except for the Australian GP, and is thus, in no mood to slow down.

Otmar Szafnauer believes that the Netflix F1 show has gained a lot of new admirers and losing the Dutchman will lead to losing them as well. Max Verstappen still sits at the top of the chart, with his brilliant win in Shanghai. After walking out of Alpine, Szafnauer in recent times is promoting his EventR app.

While having an interview with the media recently, he had the following to say.

You can’t get rid of Max. The sport has gone through this before. Max will not be champion forever. It will change. We have had Michael (Schumacher) and Lewis (Hamilton). Now you have got the Netflix fans who are just learning and you don’t want to lose them, but if Max is winning all the time, will you lose them? I don’t know the answer to that. But we have to celebrate Max for his brilliance and not chastise him. Otmar Szafnauer told: dailymail.co.uk

Szafnauer believes that with the uncertain nature of F1, it would be difficult for Verstappen to stay champion forever, however, his immense potential is commendable and should be celebrated. With three championships under his belt, Verstappen is aiming for a fourth one, which with his speed and brilliance will most probably come his way.

Otmar Szafnauer believes that McLaren’s ace would be able to challenge Max Verstappen

Otmar Szafnauer believes that there is one young driver on the grid who might be able to challenge Max Verstappen. He genuinely feels the latter’s best friend, Lando Norris could challenge him in the near future.

While talking about the same, he added the following.

You guys are as good at guessing at that as I am but who would you put up against Max? For me? I love Lewis [Hamilton]. I think he’s done a wonderful job but he’s at a different age in his career. I would stick Lando next to Max to see what happens, personally. I’m not saying Lando should do that. Otmar Szafnauer via: dailymail.co.uk

The British driver himself had admitted in the past that he was not scared of going up against Verstappen but admitted that it is a tough job. Norris had claimed that he definitely enjoys his battles with the 26-year-old battles but right now, going up against him would not be a smart move.

Norris had an emotional roller coaster ride in Shanghai, but in the end, all worked out well as he got P2 in the Chinese GP and ended up right behind Verstappen. Next up is the Miami GP and the the McLaren driver will hope to replicate his Shanghai exploits.
