James Vowles confident Williams could follow Mercedes to become ‘very strong’ in coming years

James Vowles has been the team principal of Willaims since 2023.

I’m confident now that we do have a good amount of forward vision taking place in the background. That we have teams working, be it on an aerodynamic perspective or concept development ’26. And that’s going to be very, very strong in the years to come. And what we’re also trying to do is make sure our company is structured correctly, such that we can deal with almost three years’ worth of work in one, because that’s what we’re now asking of the organisation.

The Briton seems to be sure that he can push his team in the upcoming years to be on the front foot instantly in 2026 with the new regulations. Vowles was one of the key members who helped Mercedes transform into the powerhouse they were during the turbo hybrid era and thus, will surely try his best to push Williams toward a similar result.

Vowles is one of the most experienced people in F1 and will surely be even more motivated after Andretti’s kind words. Williams has a rich history at the pinnacle of motor racing and considering this, their journey in the upcoming years is going to be a fascinating watch.
