Miguel Cabrera Keeps Passing Legends On All-Time List

The work never stops for the great Miguel Cabrera.

He may be 39 years old, but he’s still hitting like he’s in the prime of his career.

The Detroit Tigers slugger made a little bit of history on Monday night in a 12-4 blowout win over the San Diego Padres.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Detroit led the Padres by a score of 11-4 when Cabrera stepped to the plate.

All he did was hit home run No. 506 and move past Al Simmons on the all-time RBI list, with RBI No. 1,840.

ESPN Stats & Info tweeted the news, mentioning that next on the RBI list is Carl Yastrzemski at 12th place, who has a total of 1,844.

Miggy Does It In Style

This is a big accomplishment for Cabrera.

After a busy offseason, not much has gone right in Detroit, but the fans at least get a chance to enjoy their slugger chasing milestones.

Cabrera continues to climb historic all-time lists and forever etch his name in the history books.

Here’s a guy who has been at it for a long time and has done so many great things during his career.

He’s been an MVP, a Triple Crown Award winner, an All-Star, and so much more during his illustrious career.

Even at 39, Cabrera doesn’t stop.

This guy knows how to hit and continues to put on a show for the fans in Detroit as his career starts to wind down a little bit.

He’s hitting .284 with four homers and 36 RBI on the season.

It’s always nice to see a slugger climb his way through the record books and pass some of the all-time greats.

Yastrzemski is next on the list.

It won’t be long before Cabrera catches and passes him.
