Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski did something Sunday afternoon that's only been done by one other player in the history of Oracle Park.
Suwinski hit two long home runs into McCovey Cove during the Pirates' 14-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants, joining Giants legend Barry Bonds as the only other player to accomplish the feat.

In his second season in the majors, Suwinski has posted a slash line of .239/.353/.521 to go along with a team-leading 11 home runs and 28 RBI. He also has three multi-homer games already on the season and usually sees his power come in bunches.
He is doing all of this while also playing a very serviceable center field with one defensive run saved in 2023.

With a powerful swing from the left-hand side, Suwinski has all of the makings of a premier power hitter in the outfield for years to come and the Pirates hope he can continue to build towards being a long-term piece to their future.

Acquired along with utilityman Tucupita Marcano in a trade with the San Diego Padres in 2021 for second baseman Adam Frazier, Suwinski has gone from a low-end prospect to a potential everyday player in less than two seasons.
While it has still been a steep learning curve facing left-handed pitching, Suwinski is hoping to be more than a platoon player and prove that he can handle the bat no matter who is on the mound facing him.
Joining Bonds on any list is going to be an honor for most, as he is highly considered one of the greatest hitters to ever play the game of baseball.
