Homecourt advantage plays a big part in any series in the NBA Playoffs. After getting decimated for two games straight by the Cleveland Cavaliers led by Donovan Mitchell, the Orlando Magic are going to need every ounce of help that they can get from their fans. Paolo Banchero even went out to send a message to their faithful such that they show up in the next two games, via Fawzan Amer of The Sixth Man Show.

“We’re going to need them. I mean just seeing how much the fans lift them guys up being here playing these two games… We definitely gonna need the fans,” the Magic star declared.

Paolo Banchero did not put up the expected star performance in this NBA Playoffs clash. He did the Magic in scoring by knocking down nine out of his 20 field goal attempts. But, his meager production of 21 points just was not enough to cut it. In 41 minutes of action, this was all that he could produce alongside three assists and three rebounds.

His numbers might go up if they go back home. After all, he averages 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists during the regular season. There’s no reason for him to not flip the switch and lock in against the Cavaliers.

Moreover, even Coach Jamahl Mosley had big expectations for their crowd once the NBA Playoffs series went to the home of the Magic.

“It’s gonna be great to be back at home, in front of our fans. That energy. That intensity. That’s something that we’ll be looking forward to, you know. Take care of home court,” the Magic head honcho declared.

Kia Center might be insanely packed because it has been a while since the Magic reached the postseason. Hopefully, the crowd’s cheers negatively affect the Cavaliers and swing the momentum toward the Magic.

Magic gets wiped yet again

Huge adjustments need to be made for the Magic to stay afloat in the NBA Playoffs. This squad has not managed to score more than 90 points in their last two games against the Cavaliers. Moreover, no one from the squad has popped off and produced more than 25 points. Offensively speaking, there needs to be better schemes such that they can make runs and not just constantly force the issue in the paint.

While it is the Magic’s identity to keep attacking the rim, the Cavaliers just do not allow any passing lanes inside. Moreover, they also have insanely gifted personnel when it comes to rim protection. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen have been feasting on deflections because of the schemes employed.

Donovan Mitchell is also having the time of his life torching the Magic. After a 30-point performance in Game 1, he followed it up by recording 23 points on nine out of 22 field goal shooting. Other members of the Cavaliers also did not play around. The trio of Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland combined for 48 points to propel their team to a victory with an 86 to 96 scoreline.

Will the Magic turn the tides around?
